Stock Teater
Jakarta
Founded in 1997 by Totos Rasiti, Aibey S. Huda, Norman R. Akyuwen, and Epy Kusnandar, Stock Teater emerged from the creative minds of students and alumni of the Jakarta Institute of the Arts' Theater Department. Known for their commitment to exploring the breadth of realist visual theater, Stock Teater delves into urban themes, capturing the essence of city life in their storytelling and stagecraft. Over the years, they have brought to life a diverse array of productions, including Metamorfosa (2014), We The Happy Family (2011), Mencari Godot and Matinya Manusia Agung (2009), Petang di Taman (2007), Sex, Drugs, Rock and Roll (2001-2002), and Biduanita Botak (1999-2000).

In their latest venture, as part of the DITP24, Stock Teater is set to break new ground by integrating Artificial Intelligence, Film, and Video Mapping into a single theatrical experience with their production titled PLACEBO. The story centers on a woman who seemingly has it all—an orderly life, a perfect apartment, a rewarding job, and a circle of warm friends. Her life is the picture of happiness, filled with self-care, healthy living, and a shining career. Yet, after a fateful livestream experiment, she begins to unravel the truth behind her idyllic existence. A mysterious figure, X, confronts her with unsettling questions: Is she living in the past? Is her happiness merely an illusion? As she oscillates between dark secrets and her desire to return to her ideal world, her life takes a dramatic turn, challenging everything she once believed.
